System Details
Power Lock is available in two versions. A Touch-Key model and a “Hands-Free” Transponder model. Each model is configured to provide content protection. The only difference between the two is how the PowerLock system is disarmed.
Touch Key Model
To start a vehicle with the “Touch Key” system, simply touch the factory-matched Coded Key to the Key Reader and the ignition start circuitry is activated.
With either model, you will hear two beeps and the red LED will turn to green. When the ignition is turned off, the system automatically arms after 45 seconds. If the system is tampered with in any way, the horn will sound for 60 seconds. If the ignition is turned to the “ON” position for more than 15 seconds before Power Lock receives a valid read, the system will also sound the horn.
Touch Key- Simply touch the end of the coded Touch Key to the receiver portion (below the LED) on Remote Reader / System Status LED. LED will change from red (armed) to green (disarmed). Start the vehicle. The Touch Key system ships with two Touch Keys. Touch Key size - 1/4" to 3/8" to 1/4" tapered width x 1/8" height x 2" length.
Remote Reader / System Status LED- Is mounted somewhere convenient on the dashboard or around the ignition key lug in the vehicle. The LED on Remote Reader / System Status LED indicates system status; armed, disarmed, or valet mode. Remote Reader / System Status LED size - 1/2" width x 1/2" height x 1/4" depth.
